Circlewood

Reversible Timber System

Wood Core Construction Method

The HoutKern Bouwmethode (Wood Core Construction Method) was developed by the parties that now form Circlewood and was first used in The Natural Pavilion at Floriade Expo 2022. The basis of the HKB method is a stackable wooden module that can be connected by means of a clever intermediary node. The innovation therefore lies in its reversibility and flexibility. The HKB method thus provides huge savings in CO2 and nitrogen emissions but also offers a number of other important advantages and qualities. For example, the HKB method accommodates the latest design and construction techniques and enables the highest sustainability performance.

Circlewood

Circlewood harnesses the power of wood for urban building today and tomorrow, for present and future generations. Wood is perfectly suited to shape a healthy, attractive and sustainable urban living environment.

Our society demands innovative concepts that respond to a multitude of issues. From the construction of affordable housing to increasing biodiversity, reducing CO2 emissions, nature-inclusive construction with bio-based materials, the transition to renewable energy and building resilient cities. In all these areas, wood construction makes a substantial contribution.
