UN 17 Village

An Open Laboratory for UN Global Goals

The UN17 Village is a project that will transform an area in Copenhagen into a village that embodies the UN’s 17 SDGs. The 35,000 square meter village will be built using recycled concrete, wood and glass. The village will rely solely on sustainable energy, coupled with rooftop gardens to promote biodiversity and facilities to collect 1.5 million liters of rainwater per year. In total, the village will consist of 37 different housing typologies, including family homes, co-living spaces and offices. It is estimated that the village will provide 800 homes and 100 jobs.
