Digital Tools

DDC Modules

Discover the digital tools of the DDC project, and learn to use them!

To support efficiently your Deconstruction and reuse projects, DDC partners developed 3 advanced digital tools, the Quick 3D Scan and viewer, the Reversible BIM tool and the CIRDAX material inventory platform.

The 3 tools can be used independently or usefully interconnected through the Digital Deconstruction Platform.

What for

Digitalize your building

  • Analyse reuse and reversibility potential
  • Assess environmental impacts, reuse and disassembly strategy

Manage deconstructed products and secure property rights

Main interests

Creating and managing digital twins of existing buildings by using 3D scanning and machine learning for automatic equipment inventory

Assess the reuse potential of a building and its materials and present results through 3D color-coded visual overview as well as graphs and tables, as a support to define, validate and/or present a reuse strategy of building materials and their environmental and economic impact

Provide valuable economic information about a building’s performance with regard to circularity, detachability and embodied carbon. Follow the upcomming laws and regulations, and use new financial valuations that increase the sustainability process and make it easier, faster and cheaper.

Outputs

  • Point cloud of the building
  • Detailed visit or the building (viewer)

  • Circularity profile based on digital assessment of building reversibility and reuse potential
  • Colour-coded 3D viewer reflecting reuse potential
  • Visualisation of indicators such as embodied CO2, reused, recycled content quantities, environmental impacts, and so on

Material passports of

  • Detailed Inventory
  • Economic value
  • Data on economic transactions

3D Scanning

Digital Scanning of Buildings

Buildings are digitalized using 3D Scanning LiDAR techniques to create a 3D point cloud, which, after processing, provides a virtual tour of the building. Scanning and screening is the first step of ...

Materials Database

Identifying Materials

The Materials Database is an easy-to-use market tool that inventories all materials in existing buildings. Linking material passports to buildings/materials with blockchain technology creates an ...

Reversible BIM

Digital Assessment

The Reversible BIM is a digital tool (based on method E.Durmisevic) that provides insight in the reuse potential of buildings and materials reflecting their embodied value and reuse ...
